Rahul Gandhi to appear in special court in defamation case

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will appear in the special court in the today defamation case on Friday. Karnataka BJP filed a defamation case against Rahul and others. Rahul will appear in a special court meant for public representatives of Bengaluru. Rahul Gandhi has visited Bengal for this.

The Karnataka court has asked Rahul Gandhi to appear before the court on June 7 in the defamation case filed by the Karnataka BJP before the 2023 state assembly elections. Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. The court granted bail to Shivakumar. BJP General Secretary Keshari Prasad accused Rahul and others in the case of fake advertisement.

Rahul did not appear in the court for the second time in this case. According to section 205 of CRPC, it is not appropriate to release Rahul again, said the lawyer appointed by BJP. Earlier, the court had exempted Rahul from appearing and directed him to appear on June 7. During the 2023 assembly elections, the Congress had advertised in the name of 40 percent government. BJP filed a defamation case against this in the court.
