Puri/Cuttack: The death toll is increasing in the Puri arrow blast incident. Another injured person died while undergoing treatment. The deceased is Shankar Behera (38). Including this, the death toll has reached 8.

However, Shankar was admitted to Cuttack SCB in critical condition. 90 percent of his body was burned, and he was being treated on a ventilator in the plastic surgery department. The medical center informed that Shankar Behera died late on Friday night.

So far 22 injured people are being treated in different hospitals. Some of them are serious. Some people have 90 to 95 percent burns, making it difficult to identify them. The sample has been sent for DNA test to confirm the identity. Their identity will be known when the report comes. There is a fear that the number of deaths will increase in the incident.

It is worth noting that the incident took place on the evening of Wednesday, May 29, during the Mahaprabhu’s pressure game at Puri’s Narendra Pushkarini. When people fired arrows, a pile of arrows caught fire and there was a terrible explosion. However, it is said that no one was given permission by the district administration to shoot arrows, nor was any kind of fireworks organized by the temple administration.
