ONE DAY SPECIAL LEAVE FOR GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES ENGAGED IN ELECTION WORK

Bhubaneswar: The state government has granted one day special temporary leave to the government employees engaged in the current Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state. Along with this, the government employees who are going to vote in places far away from their headquarters will get 2 days special temporary leave. State Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena has written a letter to all departmental secretaries and chiefs.

According to the information, the government employees who will be engaged in the work of General Election, 2024, will be given a special temporary leave for one day after duty. This special temporary leave will be granted in addition to the casual leave and special leave or special CL they get during the calendar year. This permission has been given by the government.

In this regard, Chief Administrative Secretary Mr. Pradeep Kumar Jena informed all the departments and heads of departments through a letter. In view of the administrative convenience, this leave will be granted based on the judgment and decision of the concerned office head.

Similarly, special temporary leave for a maximum of two days has been granted to government employees who are going to vote away from their headquarters. Since polling is being held periodically on May 13, 20, 25, and June 1 in Odisha, it has been decided that the same facility will be available in the current general election-2024.
