New Delhi: The period of deposit and exchange of 2000 notes has been increased. Reserve Bank of India extended till October 7. The exchange period of 2000 notes was ended yesterday. But still many 2000 notes are available in the market, so after much review, the Reserve Bank of India has extended this period till October 7.
According to the information, the Reserve Bank of India announced that the 2000 rupee note will become invalid on May 19, 2023. The RBI also clarified that the 2000 notes in the market can be returned to the bank within September 30. After such a decision of IBI, many people deposited 2 thousand notes in banks. As of August 31, 93 percent had already been returned. It is said that some money is still in the market.
