Alleged death of baby boy due to vaccine overdose, The dead body of the child was recovered from the soil

Subarnapur: It is alleged that a two-month-old baby boy died prematurely due to overdose of vaccine in Dunguripali block of Subarnapur district in Odisha. The father of the child filed a complaint at the Rampur police station, Narendra Sandha of Dhanbasa village and pleaded for justice. A day later, the police recovered the body of the child from the soil in the presence of the magistrate.

According to the information received, Narendra and his wife Pramodini of Dhanbasa village of Rampur thana of Mayabarha gram panchayat went to the Anganwadi Center in Mayabarha on Wednesday morning to give the vaccine to their child. There, ANM of Mayabarha health center gave four vaccines. After giving the vaccine, the father took the son and returned home. Late that night, the baby fell unconscious. So he took him to Barpali Medical Center for treatment. There, the doctor referred him to Burla Medical College as his condition was critical. He died on the way to Burla Medical Center. After holding the child, they returned home and buried the dead body in the village cemetery.

In this regard, after the father of the dead child, Narendra Sandha, complained at Rampur police station, Rampur police station ASI Avinash Padhan, ASI JD Mohan Padhan went to Dhanbasa village on Saturday morning and in the presence of Rampur Tehsildar Parusottam Mirdha, the dead body was removed from the village and the body was seized. The body was handed over to the family members after post-mortem at Binika Community Health Centre. In this regard, a case under Section 304 (A) of IPC, case number 81/23 has been registered in Rampur police station. ASI Avinash Padhan said that more information will be available after the post-mortem report. The investigation is ongoing.
