Bhubaneswar: The standard of food for children in the hostels run by the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Tribes Development Department will be increased. In addition, utmost importance will be given to health, safety and hygiene. This was informed by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi. The Chief Minister also suggested that ministers and secretaries visit school and hostel regularly and check their management methods.
The Chief Minister also said that permission has been given to convert 14 high schools under the Scheduled Tribes and Castes Development Department into higher secondary school. At least 10 high school will be converted into higher secondary schools this year. Similarly, since the condition of the hostel of various primary school in the state is not good, they are being improved and new hostel are being built. In the first phase, a program has been taken up for the improvement of 301 hostel in Devoted Koraput district. The Chief Minister has also ordered to make some hostels with 100 seats as per the requirement.
